A Review of Educational Technology 1

1. Discuss the disparity in educational technology advancement in schools of industrialized First World country (such as the U.S, England, Japan, Singapore, Australia) and a still developing country, namely the Philippines.

Answer:  The advancement in technology as compared to the 1st world countries and the 3rd world countries such as the Philippines has a very notable gap such that it is observable to the latter that what seems to be advanced to them is already a vintage for the countries considered first world.

2. Given the lack of resources in our rural area in the Philippines, what media can still be used for effective learning in schools? 

Answer: Media that can be used amidst the evident lack of resources, especially learning media, are those which we are used to such as Chalk and Board (CnB), Manila papers, cartolina, and other traditional materials. Though not that hi-tech in nature, many successful men came from rooms which used those.

3. Computer shops are pervasive around schools, but these are mainly used for playing games. Without judging on the possibly dehumanizing effects of excessive computer game habits, how can a learner best use computer resources as they may be available in schools or at home?

Answer: Living in the revolutionized computer era, the privilege to experience computer technologies must be forward bound for educational purpose priorities. These computers can be used for researches, theses, projects, internet browsing, reference, communications and etc.
